About Video Watermark
Free Online Tool
Video Watermark Adder
Protect your content. Brand every frame. No software, no account needed — upload, position, and download in under a minute.
How to Use This Tool (30 Seconds)
- 1Upload Your Video: Click the video upload zone and select your file. MP4, MOV, AVI, and WebM are all supported up to 500MB.
- 2Upload Your Logo: Add your logo as a PNG file. A transparent background gives the cleanest overlay — no white box around your brand.
- 3Select a Corner Position: Pick from Top-Left, Top-Right, Bottom-Left, or Bottom-Right. Choose based on where your video content is least busy.
- 4Download Your Watermarked Video: Hit 'Add Watermark.' The tool processes your file and triggers an automatic download — watermark permanently embedded.
How Corner Positioning Works
The tool uses pixel-offset compositing to place your logo. Each corner position is calculated from the video frame dimensions using this logic:
// Top-Left x = padding, y = padding
// Top-Right x = videoWidth − logoWidth − padding
// Bottom-Left x = padding, y = videoHeight − logoHeight − padding
// Bottom-Right x = videoWidth − logoWidth − padding, y = videoHeight − logoHeight − padding
Default edge padding is 20px and logo opacity renders at 70% — assertive enough to deter unauthorized use, subtle enough not to obstruct your footage.
Which Corner Should You Pick?
| Position | Best For | Avoid When |
|---|---|---|
| Top-Left | Tutorials, screen recordings | Subtitles or captions start top-left |
| Top-Right | Vlogs, talking-head videos | Platform UI overlaps (livestreams) |
| Bottom-Left | Cinematic reels, short films | Lower-third graphics are present |
| Bottom-Right | YouTube, Instagram, TikTok | Platform watermarks already exist there |
⚡ Pro Tip
Export your logo as a white-only transparent PNG instead of a full-color version. White at 65% opacity stays legible across both dark and bright video scenes — indoor, outdoor, day, or night. Full-color logos disappear when the background matches a dominant brand color. A white version is universal and takes 30 seconds to create in any image editor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What video formats are supported for watermarking?
MP4, MOV, AVI, and WebM. For upload and output compatibility across all platforms, MP4 (H.264) is the recommended format.
Q: Will adding a watermark reduce my video quality?
No. The logo is composited as an overlay layer at export. Your original video resolution, bitrate, and frame rate are all preserved.
Q: What's the ideal logo size for a 1080p video watermark?
Keep your logo between 8–12% of the video width. For a 1920px-wide video, that's roughly 150–230px — prominent enough to brand without blocking the content.
Q: Does the watermark survive platform compression on YouTube or Instagram?
Yes. Because the watermark is burned directly into the video file before upload, it persists through any platform re-encoding or compression.
Q: Can I watermark a video with text instead of a logo image?
This tool supports image-based watermarks only. To use text, create a transparent PNG of your text in Canva or Photoshop, then upload it as your logo file.
Q: Is there a video file size limit?
Files up to 500MB are supported. For 4K footage or long-form content beyond that, use FFmpeg's overlay filter for batch watermarking without size restrictions.
Q: How do I add a watermark to a video without losing the original?
This tool always outputs a new file — your original upload is never overwritten. Save both files if you need the unwatermarked source for future edits.
